Minimal States Trilogy: An Overview.

The three different albums that form ‘Trilogy’ by Minimal States (Thom Carter) are works of ambient and experimental music that combine field recordings, generative synthesis, self-written software and self-made instruments alongside conventional analogue and digital synthesizers. Each album will be made available sequentially on the Test Tube netlabel (www.monocromatica.com)

Minimal States - ‘Like A Photograph’:
The first album of the trilogy, ‘Like A Photograph’, is a conceptual work of two tracks, each lasting exactly 15 minutes in length. Using field recordings of the natural world and multiple layers of ambient sound-textures, the music explores states of spatial change and the cycles of growth and development within organic life-forms.
